Baked Goods

Baking has been a part of our little, chefly hearts since the beginning, and we continue our love affair with flour + sugar. In case it needs restating, we love baking and we use our other products, like dried fruits and fresh fruit preserves, in our baked goods. We make PB&J Bites, Peanut Butter and Banana Chews, Zucchini Cake, Carrot Cake, Glazed Lemon Poppyseed Cake, Pumpkin Raisin Spice Cake, Chocolate Buttermilk Cake, and much more. We're experimenting with gluten-free baking, so stay-tuned for future developments!

We'll be the first to admit that our pickled selection is on the eclectic side. Cauliflower and green beans get tossed into Mustard Pickle Chow Chow. Radishes pink up the brine in our Radish with Nasturtium Pod & Rat Tail Radish Seed pickles. Our other pickles are Dilly Beans, Escabeche, Dilly Chile Carrots, and Beets. Our pickles go well alongside sandwiches, burgers & dogs, vegetable salads, roasted meats and sausages, deviled eggs and tuna salad.

Dried Fruits

We like to dry our fruits when they are super-duper ripe, when all of their natural sweetness can be captured in each bite. Our dried fruits have no added anything. They're just fruit, naked and unabashed! Our dried fruit selection includes banana, pear, apple, raisin, persimmon, grapefruit peel and lemon peel. They are delicious eaten by themselves or added into your favorite muffins, pancakes, waffles, hot cereals, or granola.

Other Foodstuffs

We dabble in all sorts of foodstuffs that  catch our fancy. Sometimes we just want to try something a little off the wall. When we have an over-abundance of bananas, we came up with Drunken Banana Sauce, a concoction that Jack Sparrow might find to his liking on some ice cream! Some of our other miscellaneous selections include Ketchup, BBQ sauce, chutneys, and pasta sauces.

A NOTE ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS: All of our products are made with ingredients that we endeavor to ensure are grown or made using practices with which we agree; no pesticide, no herbicides, no GMOs. However, not all of the ingredients we use are always from these sources. Those ingredients tend to be products that would otherwise have been sent into our waste stream - perfectly edible but unattractively imperfect. We have made the conscious decision that when we use an ingredient that we cannot verify is pesticide, herbicide or GMO free, it is, however, an ingredient we have made a concerted effort to keep from entering the waste dumps and garbage bins that claim 40% of ALL food in the north America. Waste is a problem as big as (we dare say even bigger than) adulterated food. At Valley Girls Foodstuffs, we hope to bring both issues of adulterated food AND wasted food to your attention.
